The Purpose of the Battery
Although the engine is the driving force behind a Subaru vehicle, the battery is the source of energy that can start up the core. When you engage the ignition, a jolt of electricity is sent to the powertrain. As the engine is working, chemical and mechanical energy is sent to a part known as the alternator. It's here where the electricity is converted and delivered back to the battery, then the process repeats itself. As it's occurring, the Subaru Ascent or Forester will receive power to features like the touch screen, headlamps, tail lights, and even the climate control system as you drive in cities like Indianapolis.

Replacement Process
Before you take a trip to Lucas Oil Stadium, consider getting the battery replaced so you can avoid a mechanical breakdown. The process could take less than 30 minutes. When you visit our service center, our certified technicians will inspect the battery and determine its voltage level. If the readings are below 11.8 volts while the vehicle is off, we will recommend that you have it swapped out for a new one. Once our mechanics determine that a replacement is needed, they will detach the terminals and uninstall the old component. Next, our Parts Department will supply an OEM battery, and one of our technicians will install it. After that, you'll be ready to travel beyond the borders of Indiana or any other destination.
